ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After a weeklong layoff, the UCF women's tennis team wraps up their five-match home stand at the USTA National Campus to start the 2018 season with a doubleheader against Troy and North Florida on Sunday at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

Last time out, UCF (2-1) fell to Alabama 4-3. The Knights opened the match with the doubles points with wins at No. 2 and 3. Monica Matias and then-reigning American Athletic Conference Player of the Week Rebekah Stolmar notched victories in singles action, but the Crimson Tide, who picked up votes in last week's ITA poll, rallied with four singles points to win the match.

The Black and Gold has dominated in doubles this season, winning the opening point in all three matches this season. Matias and Natalia Serrano, the lone veteran pairing for UCF, are a perfect 3-0 this year in doubles action.

In singles play, Stolmar has wasted little time making an impact in the first three matches of her career. The Hungarian international has earned a point for the Black and Gold in all three contests. Matias and Silvia Bordes have been vital to putting the Knights in a position to win with matching 2-1 records.

Troy will open its 2018 season on Saturday at USF. The Trojans posted a record of 8-15 last year with an appearance in the Sun Belt Championships semifinals. Troy boasts four senior players, as well as three freshman.

North Florida (4-0) rolls into Orlando on a four-match winning streak. The Opsreys topped New Orleans, Middle Tennessee, Florida A&M, and Flagler to start the year. North Florida have only surrendered three points in four total matches.
