ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – After getting its three-game win streak snapped on Wednesday, the UCF men's basketball team looks to rebound in its final road game of the regular season on Sunday. The Knights will tip-off with Temple at 2 p.m. from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.
With three games remaining in the regular season, UCF (17-10, 8-7) looks to stay ahead of Temple in the American Athletic Conference standings. The Owls (15-12, 7-8) welcome the Knights to Philadelphia with the goal of avenging a loss to UCF earlier this season.
The Knights won 60-39 when Temple came to Orlando back on Jan. 7. At the time, the defensive performance tied the CFE Arena record for least points by a UCF opponent in facility history. The Owls shot just 32.1 percent from the floor and 18.2 percent from three-point range.
Dayon Griffin and Ceasar DeJesus led UCF in the victory in January. Griffin had 15 points on 3-of-5 shooting beyond the arc, while DeJesus had 13 points and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
Since then Temple has gone 8-4 with wins over SMU, Tulsa and Wichita State. The Owls have lost their last two though, falling on the road at Wichita State and losing at home to Houston.
After returning from Philadelphia, the Knights will conclude the regular season with a pair of home games against Wichita State on March 1 and Tulane on March 4.
