ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's basketball team has won its last two American Athletic Conference contests and aims for a third in a row Sunday when the Knights host Temple at Noon on CBS Sports Network.
UCF (11-4, 2-1) has won seven of its last eight games, including a pair of recent league victories at ECU and vs. Memphis. The Knights earned their third straight win over the Tigers on Wednesday, marking just the program's fourth all-time.
The Knights will similarly aim to win their third straight against the Owls on Sunday. UCF won both meetings against Temple last season, dominating at home on New Year's Eve, before battling to a two-point win in Philadelphia in late February.
This year's Owls (7-7, 0-3) had plenty of early season success, handing Auburn and Clemson their only losses thus far in 2017-18. Temple started 6-2, also defeating Old Dominion, South Carolina, Wisconsin and St. Joe's.
Since then, Temple has struggled a bit more, losing its last four games to Georgia, Tulane, Houston and most recently a 55-53 buzzer-beating loss to Cincinnati.
While UCF has won the last two, Temple leads the all-time series 5-4 and has won four of the last six games against the Knights.
