ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's basketball team returns home after a two-game road trip to host UConn Wednesday night at CFE Arena. The Knights look to avenge a loss in Storrs back on Jan. 10 when they tip-off against the Huskies at 9 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
Both teams come into the game looking to move back above the .500 mark in league play, as UCF and UConn hold identical 4-4 records in The American.
Earlier this month the Huskies (11-10) edged the Knights (13-7) by a score of 62-53 at Gampel Pavilion. UConn got 18 points and seven rebounds out of Christian Vital and went 20-of-21 from the free throw line to earn the home victory.
The Knights were without B.J. Taylor in that one, but the all-conference point guard is back now. Taylor has scored in double figures in the last two games, including a 25-point outburst at USF. In his last two games, he has dished out 10 assists and only turned the ball over once.
Since the last meeting, UConn has gone 2-3, winning over Tulane and SMU, but falling to Memphis, Villanova and Temple. The Knights, meanwhile, have gone 1-2, defeating USF and losing to Cincinnati and Wichita State.
