ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's basketball team continues its road swing with a Wednesday night contest at Cincinnati.
 
The teams will tip off at 7 p.m. at Saint Ursula Academy as Fifth Third Arena undergoes renovations.
 
UCF (14-7, 6-2) has won three straight and faces Cincinnati (13-8, 5-3) for the lone meeting between the squads this season.
 
UCF LEADERS

  • A trio of Knights average double figures, led by Zakiya Saunders with 14.1 points per game. The Augusta, Ga., native is shooting 33.3 percent from three.
  • Aliyah Gregory averages 11.3 points per contest and has 23 steals and 24 assists.  
  • Korneila Wright averages 10.5 points per game and leads the team with 2.6 steals per contest.
  • Saunders and Wright lead UCF in assists, averaging 4.0 per game each.
  • With five double-digit rebound games this season, Nyala Shuler leads the team with an average of 7.6. Shuler leads UCF with 60 offensive rebounds, while Masseny Kaba has grabbed 57 offensive boards this season.

 
AROUND THE AMERICAN

  • At 6-2, UCF has posted its second-most wins since joining The American prior to the 2012-13 campaign.
  • In conference games, the Knights are second in the league in scoring defense (52.6) and steals (10.6).
  • Zakiya Saunders has the top three-point field goal percentage (.524) and is third in the league with 2.5 steals in conference games. Korneila Wright is second with an average of 2.8 steals per contest in league action.

 
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS

  • Cincinnati enters Wednesday's contest with a 13-8 overall record, and a 5-3 mark in league play.
  • The Bearcats saw a four-game win streak snapped in a 79-70 overtime loss to ECU on Jan. 27.
  • While the Knights hold the most recent victory, Cincinnati leads the all-time series, 7-3.
  • A trio of Bearcats average double figures, led by Nikira Goings' 12.3 points per game. Ana Owens averages 11.8 points per game, and Iimar'I Thomas adds 11.0 points per game.
  • Shanice Johnson and Angel Rizor lead Cincinnati on the boards, as each grabs 6.1 rebounds per game. Thomas is just behind them at 6.0 rebounds per contest.
  • Johnson, Rizor and Thomas lead the team in blocks, and Johnson has a team-leading 48 steals on the season.
