ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's basketball team opens a two-game road stretch at Tulsa on Saturday.
 
The teams will tip off at 3 p.m. ET and the contest will stream on the American Digital Network.
 
UCF (13-7, 5-2 The American) has won its last two outings in league play and faces Tulsa (8-12, 2-5 The American) for the first time this season.
 
UCF LEADERS

  • A trio of Knights average double figures, led by Zakiya Saunders with 13.7 points per game. The Augusta, Ga., native is shooting 32.4 percent from three.
  • Aliyah Gregory averages 11.5 points per contest and has 22 steals and 23 assists.  
  • Korneila Wright averages 10.8 points per game and leads the team with 2.75 steals per contest.
  • Saunders and Wright lead UCF in assists, averaging 4.2 and 3.95 per game, respectively.
  • Following a career-best 17 rebound performance against SMU, Nyala Shuler bumped her team-leading rebounding average up to 7.7. Shuler leads UCF with 57 offensive rebounds, while Masseny Kaba has grabbed 55 offensive boards this season.

 
AROUND THE AMERICAN

  • At 5-2, UCF is off to its best start in The American, and its best start in league play since the 2008-09 Conference USA campaign.
  • In conference games, the Knights are second in the league in scoring defense (53.9) and steals (11.1).
  • Korneila Wright leads league players with an average of 3.1 steals per contest in conference action. Zakiya Saunders is third with an average of 2.7, and has the top three-point field goal percentage (.526).

 
SCOUTING THE HURRICANE

  • Tulsa enters Saturday's contest with an 8-12 overall record, and a 2-5 mark in The American.
  • A 62-58 win in Tulsa last season put UCF ahead 8-7 in the all-time series.
  • Three members of the Hurricane squad have made 20 or more three-pointers on the season.
  • Shug Dickson leads the Hurricane with 12.7 points per game.
  • Erika Wakefield has a team-leading 27 steals and 47 assists.
