Opens in a new window John Euliano Park

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – As the UCF baseball team continues its preparations for the 2018 season, construction continues on the new Home Plate Tower at John Euliano Park.

The $3.6 million project commenced with demolition of the old press box in early November. Once crews cleared the debris, work began on the foundation, stair towers and steel began to go up last week.

When completed, the new Home Plate Tower will feature a 241-seat premium club will include outdoor seating and indoor amenities, such as an air-conditioned lounge, food and beverage service, private restrooms and a dedicated entrance to the space. The tower will also feature a second-level press box and a large roof line that will provide shade to the concourse and many of the lower-level seats behind home plate.

The structure should be completed by Opening Knight on Feb. 16, but the second floor premium club, as well as the press box, is scheduled open in early March. The remainder of John Euliano Park, including a new covered concourse under the tower and seating directly behind home plate, will be open when the 2018 season begins.

UCF will open head coach Greg Lovelady's second season with a three-game tournament at home against Virginia, Rice and Samford on Feb. 16-18.
