Time For A Toy Drive

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The holiday season, a time for giving and spreading cheer, has arrived. For the UCF women's basketball team, it also marks the return of its annual toy drive to raise awareness for victims of domestic violence.

The first 400 fans to donate their unwrapped toys prior to UCF's 2 p.m. game against Georgia Southern will receive an ugly sweater t-shirt. Any donation after the first 400 fans will receive a car flag. Fans will have another opportunity to donate toys at the men's basketball game against Southeastern Louisiana on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. will also receive an ugly sweater t-shirt while supplies last. Doors open one hour prior to tip for both games.

All toys will be donated to The Spring of Tampa, a domestic violence shelter, in support of a campaign started by senior Aliyah Gregory. Read her story here.

The UCF fanbase has been outstanding in the holiday toy drive for the children impacted by domestic violence. In 2015, the toy drive collected around 130 toys. Last season, the men's team and the UCF SGA joined in, raising the total to 476 toys donated.
