ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Adding to her already extensive list of career honors, UCF Volleyball redshirt senior Kia Bright was named All-Region Honorable Mention for the Southeast Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

"Kia has established yourself as one of the best all-around players in UCF history," head coach Todd Dagenais said. "She deserves every bit of national recognition that she gets. She has meant so much to this team in this program over the last five years. I'm excited that she's looking for her first opportunity to play professionally as she finishes her graduate degree."

After earning First Team honors in 2014, Bright became just the fifth player in UCF history receive regional laurels by the AVCA twice.

Bright was sensational in her final campaign with the Knights. She led the Black and Gold offensively with 4.35 kills per set and a .255 hitting percentage. Bright was also solid in the back row with 3.05 digs per set. The veteran outside hitter recorded 22 double-doubles, averaging 15.4 kills and 13.8 digs per match.

The Starke, Fla., native was also a force in The American this season. With the fourth most kills per set, fifth most points and 19th highest hitting percentage, Bright was a unanimous First Team All-Conference pick.

Going down as one greatest players in program history, Bright etched her name all over the record book. She finished ranked sixth in kills (1,368), seventh in kills per set (3.33), fourth in digs (1,221), fifth in digs per set (2.97) and seventh in block solos. Bright was just the fifth player in program history to join the 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs club.
