ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's basketball team is riding a five-game win streak and set to open up American Athletic Conference play at SMU on Wednesday. On Tuesday, The American named UCF junior Tacko Fall its Player of the Week.

It marks the second Player of the Week honor from The American for Fall, who also earned the accolades once last season.

UCF's 7-foot-6 center averaged a double-double in a pair of wins over Stetson and South Carolina State this week. Fall scored 18.0 points and grabbed 11.0 rebounds, while shooting 83.3 percent from the floor and blocking five shots.

Fall and B.J. Taylor are the only Knights to ever receive Player of the Week honors from The American, and the junior center becomes the first UCF player to garner the honor multiple times in any conference since Isaiah Sykes in Conference USA.

With a mark of .781, Fall leads the nation in field goal percentage, while scoring a team high 13.4 points per game. Last year's Defensive Player of the Year in The American also leads the league with 2.1 blocked shots per game and is fourth with 7.8 boards per outing.

Fall and the Knights open up league play Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET at defending conference champion SMU. Coverage will be on ESPN and FM 96.9/AM 740 The Game.
