STOCKTON, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's basketball team concludes its California road trip with an 8 p.m. ET contest on Pacific on Wednesday.
 
The Knights (7-4) bring a three-game win streak into the game against the Tigers. On Dec. 17, UCF handed UC Davis its first loss of the season with a 62-55 decision in Davis, Calif.
 
UCF LEADERS

  • A trio of Knights average double figures, led by Zakiya Saunders at 14.7 points per game. Aliyah Gregory is second with 13.4 points per contest.
  • Korneila Wright's 16-point performance at UC Davis bumped her average up to 10.1 on the season. She leads the team with 44 assists and 28 steals through the first 11 games.
  • Following a career-best 14-rebound outing at UC Davis, Nyala Shuler pushed her team-leading rebounds per game up to 7.5. She has a team-leading 37 offensive rebounds this season. Shuler is also second on the team with 17 steals.


DEFENSIVE DISCUSSION

  • After holding just two opponents under 56 points in the first eight games, the UCF defense has stepped up over the last three outings. The Knights held Georgia Southern, Boston and UC Davis under the mark.
  • The Knights have held their opponents to single digits in 12 quarters this season.
  • UCF limited Boston to a season-low two points in the second quarter.
  • The Knights held UC Davis, who entered the game with an average of 79.8 PPG, to just 55 points to earn the victory.


SCOUTING THE TIGERS

  • Pacific brings a 5-5 overall record into the matchup.
  • The programs meet for the first time. The Knights are 0-1 against the West Coast Conference, dropping an 80-63 decision at Santa Clara on Nov. 28, 2005.
  • Four Tigers average double figures, led by GeAnna Luaulu-Summers' 16.7 points per game. She also leads Pacific with 57 assists and 30 steals.
  •  Desire Finnie (12.5), Ameela Li (11.2) and Brooklyn McDavid (10.6) also average double digits for Pacific.
  • Jenelle Grant leads Pacific on the boards, averaging 9.2 rebounds per game.

UCF returns to Orlando to host Davidson on Dec. 28. The game is slated for a 2 p.m. start in CFE Arena.
