BOSTON, Mass. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's basketball team posted its second consecutive victory with a 47-32 win over Boston in Case Gym – "The Roof" on Wednesday evening.

"We put away November and we're just talking about December right now," UCF head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson said. "We're working on good habits right now. Defensively, we did a lot of work for those 10 days. Our defense was awesome; it created a lot of steals, a lot of tips, a lot of layups. Our transition was really good because of our defense."

UCF (6-4) had just a one-point advantage, 13-12, after the first quarter of action, but held Boston (5-4) to just two points in the second frame to take a 23-14 lead into the locker room. The Knights continued to push in the third quarter and withstood a push from the Terriers in the fourth quarter to claim their sixth victory of the season.

Redshirt senior Zakiya Saunders led the way with 20 points, while redshirt junior Nyala Shuler added a season-high 10 points. Both finished just shy of double-doubles, as they each grabbed nine rebounds. Freshman Masseny Kaba tied her career-high by pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds. Sophomore Korneila Wright dished out seven assists and collected three steals.

The defense picked up where it left off.

  • For the second straight game, UCF held its opponent under 40 points.
  • The Knights limited Boston to just two points in the second quarter, marking the 10th time this season that UCF has held an opponent to single digits in a quarter.
  • The Black and Gold scored 15 points off 22 Terrier turnovers.
  • UCF collected 12 steals, with six Knights recording at least one steal.
  • The Knights outrebounded Boston 44-27, and UCF pulled down 15 offensive boards.

The Knights opened December 2-0.

  • Wednesday's victory at Boston marked the second straight victory to open the month of December.
  • UCF defeated Georgia Southern, 62-38, on Dec. 10.
  • The last time UCF started a month off with back-to-back victories was in November 2016.
