ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – On November 10, student-athletes from the women's soccer and volleyball teams spent the morning playing table games with the veterans at the VA Orlando Medical Center at their Community Living Center.
During the hour of playing multiple rounds of Uno and Dominoes, veterans were able to share some stories and memories of where and when they served and why serving their country was the highlight of their lives.
"I? had so much fun interacting with the Vets today! It was inspiring to see something as simple as playing Uno or Dominoes with them could mean so much to each of them," UCF Volleyball senior Jordan Pingel stated. "It was truly a great reminder that we have so much to be thankful for in life, and I? have such respect for those who fought and served to give us the blessed lives we all live."
