ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – UCF is the only undefeated team in the nation after improving to 12-0 with an American Athletic Conference Championship Game victory over Memphis on Saturday. On Sunday, the Knights matched their highest national ranking ever, coming in at 10th in both polls.
UCF moved up one spot in the Coaches Poll, passing Miami, who now ranks 11th. In the AP Poll, the Knights jumped two spots after defeating then No. 14/16 Memphis in the title game. UCF passed by both Miami and TCU according to AP Poll voters.
The achievement matches that of the 2013 Knights, who finished their campaign ranked 10th in the AP Poll after defeating Big 12 Champion Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl. The 2013 squad ended the year ranked 12th in the Coaches Poll.
The Knights continue to lead the nation in scoring offense with 49.4 points per game. UCF has scored over 30 points in each of its 12 games this season, and the Knights have impressively reached the 60-point plateau four times.
UCF now awaits its bowl bid, to be announced later on Sunday.
