ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF senior Saga Fredriksson was tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 First Team on Thursday afternoon.
A native of Malmo, Sweden, Fredriksson been a key member of the backline for the No. 8 UCF women's soccer team this season. The Knights enter the NCAA Tournament with a 13-1-3 overall record and are on a 16-match unbeaten streak.
Fredriksson was named the 2016 American Athletic Conference Co-Defender of the Year and collected Defensive Player of the week accolades three times.
In the classroom, Fredriksson has compiled a 3.82 grade-point average (GPA) as a psychology major. She has earned Dean's List honors five times, while being placed on the President's Honor Roll for a 4.0 GPA twice.
She became the first Knight since Tishia Jewell in 2011 to earn a spot on the all-district squad.
By earning a spot on the all-district team, Fredriksson will now be included on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. The three teams are announced on Dec. 7.
