ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- Three Varsity Knight golfers are getting closer to advancing their professional golf careers. Connor Arendell and Brad Schneider recently advanced to the final stage of qualifying in the Web.com Tour Q School. Meanwhile, Linus Vaisanen advanced to the final stage of the European Tour Qualifying School.
Arendell took part in the second stage of the Web.com Tour Q School in Dothan, Ala. last week. He finished 7-under and tied for eighth place in the tournament. Arendell racked up 19 birdies during the four-round tournament. He birdied six holes in both the first and fourth rounds.
Schneider came through with two huge birdies on the final two holes of his second stage tournament in Brooksville, Fla. to qualify. He was 8-under for the four-round tournament.
Arendell and Schneider will look to qualify for the Web.com Tour when they take part in the final stage of qualifying Dec. 7-10 in Chandler, Ariz.
Vaisanen took third place in a second-round tournament in the second stage of the European Tour Qualifying School this week in Almeria, Spain. He was 14-under for the four-round tournament and one of just four golfers who were at par or under in each of the four rounds. Vaisanen tallied 23 birdies and recorded just seven holes with a score of par or above.
The final stage of qualifying for the European Tour begins Saturday in Tarragona, Spain.
