Knights Win Dick Vitale Doubles Title

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) –     The UCF women's tennis team scored a trio of trophies on the final day of the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic. Monica Matias and Natalia Serrano won an all Knights doubles championship, while Matias finished with runner-up honors in the singles final.

Matias and Serrano squared off with teammates and No. 2 seed freshman pairing opf Ksenia Kuznetsova and Maria Martinez. The veteran experience came in handy as Matias and Serrano won 8-5.

In the singles championship match, Matias ran into the No. 1 seeded Josie Kuhlman from Florida. The Moca, Puerto Rico, native could not pull off the upset, falling 6-2, 6-3.
