ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF baseball team's fall camp came to a close on Saturday afternoon with Game 3 of the Black and Gold Series. Highlighted by tremendous starting pitching, the series final was another tight contest, as Gold came from behind to win 2-1.
Thad Ward got the start for the Gold team and went five innings with nine strikeouts, allowing two hits and one earned run. Cre Finfrock in his first game action since returning from injury was solid with a hitless four-inning performance to go with a quartet of punchouts.
Brandon Hernandez brought home Ray Alejo from third on a sacrifice fly to give Black a lead 1-0 lead in the fifth inning. Black looked like it would complete the sweep, but Adam Torres belted a two RBI base knock to give Gold a 2-1 victory.
