LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – A trio of players from the UCF men's tennis team competed in the opening round of the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic.

No. 4 seed Danny Kerznerman dropped his opening round contest to Gabe Tishman from Michigan (6-2, 6-3). The Brooklyn native bounced back in the consolation draw with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Vuk Budic from Illinois. Kerznerman will face Princeton's Luke Gamble in the next round.

Enrique Paya lost in his opening match to Carles Sarrio of Auburn 6-2, 6-1. The sophomore rebounded by downing Felipe Escobar from FGCU in the first round of the consolation draw. He will face Clement Filho of Louisville on Saturday.

Vasyl Kiselyov took Brandon Lancaster to three sets but fell 7-6, 6-7 (3), 6-2. Kiselyov later bowed out of the tournament in a 6-0, 6-4 defeat to Gamble.

Kerznerman and Paya teamed up for doubles play. The pairing outdueled George Washington's Chrispher Fletcher and Chris Reynolds 8-6, but lost in the second round to Gamble and Diego Vives from Princeton.

In the second round of the Futures F35 Players' Choice Open in Birmingham, Ala., freshman Gabriel Decamps fell to the No. 2 seeded Matias Zukas from Argentina.
