ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The Frank & Barbara Broyles Foundation has announced its five finalists for the 2017 Broyles Award, which honors college football's top assistant coach, and among them was UCF Offensive Coordinator Troy Walters.
 
Walters has helped guide the Knights to a perfect 11-0 regular season and a berth in the American Athletic Conference Championship.  His offense leads the nation in scoring at 48.3 points per game and is ranked in the Top 10 in seven statistical categories.
 
The five finalists will travel to Little Rock, Ark. for the announcement of the 2017 Broyles Award winner on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Marriott Hotel.
 
The other finalists for this year's award are Auburn's Kevin Steele, Clemson's Tony Elliot, Oklahoma's Bill Bedenbaugh, and Wisconsin's Jim Leonhard.
