ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After helping the UCF volleyball team to back-to-back sweeps of USF last week, freshman Kristina Fisher earned her second straight American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor.

"Kristina was the workhorse of our team the last three weeks offensively," head coach Todd Dagenais said. "She put up incredible numbers and points for us at the most critical part of the season. She has established herself as one of the top point scorers in The American, and will continue to be a force to be reckoned with. Hitting over .300 in four straight matches is a pretty remarkable feat."

The rookie out of Austin, Texas, was unstoppable on offense. Fisher tallied 29 kills in six sets, with a .417 attack percentage and hit only four errors. She added 15 digs and a pair of assisted blocks on the defensive side. On Wednesday, she hammered 15 kills at a .371 clip. Fisher followed that performance up with 14 kills on just 25 swings for a .480 hitting percentage to close out the regular season.

This year, Fisher finished 13th in The American in kills per set at 2.90. She was a huge part of the Knights' late six-match winning streak. Fisher averaged 3.85 kills per set with a .350 hitting percentage.

Fisher and the Knights are in Athens, Ga., for the first round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship on Tuesday afternoon against UNC Greensboro. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
