Players of the Week

Game Recap

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 11/12 UCF football team finished the 2017 season undefeated after defeating USF 49-42 Friday afternoon at Spectrum Stadium. On Monday, a pair of Knights earned final American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors.

McKenzie Milton earned his fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor from the league this season, while Mike Hughes was named Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time.

Milton finished the War On I-4 29-of-44 for 373 yards and four touchdowns through the air, leading the Knights to victory. He also rushed 11 times for 56 yards and a score. His 30 touchdowns on the season are the second most in a single season in program history, needing just two to set a new school record.

Hughes set a new career high with 125 kick return yards against the Bulls. It was his final return, however, that will go down in UCF history.  With 1:22 to play in the game, he returned a USF kick 95 yards for a touchdown to put the Knights ahead for good.

Milton ranks second in the nation in completion percentage (69.1), passing efficiency (182.9) and yards per attempt (10.32). He is also seventh in total offense (339.1), ninth in passing touchdowns and 10th in passing yards per game (300.1).

Hughes is ranked third in the nation in average kick return (34.9) and fourth in kickoff return touchdowns with two on the season.

Milton, Hughes and the Knights will host No. 14/16 Memphis in the American Athletic Conference Championship Game Saturday at noon on ABC.
