ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After a resounding 3-0 win to open up the volleyball portion of the War on I-4, the UCF volleyball team heads to Tampa to square off with the Bulls for the regular-season finale on Saturday at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Knights (18-13, 11-8) rallied from behind in the first and third sets on Wednesday against the Bulls.
• Despite allowing 16 kills in all three sets, the Black and Gold committed fewer attack and service errors and blocked two more attacks than USF.
• Kia Bright capped Senior Knight with the final kill to give her a match-high 19 scoring swings and 16 digs, her 21st double-double of the year.
WHAT'S ON THE LINE
• Three more points are up for grabs when the two clubs meet.
• After Wednesday's match, the Knights took a 12-9 lead over USF.
• Depending on the result of the UCF-USF football clash at Spectrum Stadium on Friday, the Black and Gold will either have a commanding 18-9 lead or will trail 15-9 when the two schools play volleyball in Tampa.
THE STREAK
• The Knights extended their winning streak to five matches on Wednesday, including four sweeps.
• Kia Bright was sensational on the attack, averaging 4.65 kills per set.
• Freshman Kristina Fisher chipped in with 3.71 kills per set at a .329 clip.
• The middle blocking duo of Taylor Wickey and Jeanne Westney combined for eight blocks per match, while the Knights recorded 11 blocks per match.
• With a win on Saturday, the Knights will have their longest winning streak to end the regular season in the Todd Dagenais era.
THE BULLS
• The loss on Wednesday dropped USF to 12-17 overall and 7-12 in The American.
• The Bulls tallied a .234 hitting percentage and connected on 16 kills in all three sets.
• Reagan Davey and Doris Carter led the offense with 15 and 12 kills, respectively.
