LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (UCFKnights.com) -- The Frank & Barbara Broyles Foundation has announced the semifinalists for the 2017 Broyles Award, which honors college football's top assistant coach. 

Among the 15 semifnalists is UCF Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach Troy Walters

Walters helps guide a Knights' offense that ranks No. 1 in the nation in scoring, No. 5 in total offense, No. 2 in passing efficiency, No. 11 in passing offense and No. 32 in rushing offense. 
 
The 15 semifinalists were chosen from 56 nominees. There are approximately 1500 assistant coaches representing 129 Division One programs across the country. For the first time in the award's 22-year history, a committee representing the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) was also included in the Broyles Award selection process.
