ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After a three-game road stretch, the UCF women's basketball team returns to CFE Arena, opening a three game home stand on Wednesday. The Knights will host Elon at 2 p.m.
 
UCF (2-2) returns to CFE Arena after 12 days away. The Knights hit the road after the season opener, picking up a pair of wins at Chattanooga and Gardner-Webb.
 
UCF LEADERS

  • Senior Aliyah Gregory earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference honor roll after averaging 18 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game over the three-game stretch. She now leads the Knights with an average of 14.5 points per game.
  • Sophomore Korneila Wright scored a career-high 18 points at Virginia Tech and averaged 12 points per game last week.
  • Redshirt junior Nyala Shuler pulled down a team-leading 7.0 rebounds per game over the three contests. Shuler and senior Fifi Ndour lead the Knights with an average of 6.5 rebounds per contest this season.
  • Freshman Masseny Kaba was just shy of a double-double in the win at Gardner-Webb, pulling down a career-best 10 rebounds while adding nine points. She came close again at Virginia Tech, scoring a career-high 10 points with eight rebounds.

 
KNIGHT NOTES

  • Aliyah Gregory moved into the UCF top 10 for career points in the season opener against Mercer. Her 54 points last week moved her into eighth all-time with 1,210 points as a Knight.
  • UCF has finished with double-digit steals in three of its first four contests this season. The Knights swiped a season-best 18 in the win at Chattanooga.
  • Korneila Wright leads UCF with 20 assists through the first four games. As a freshman in 2016-17, she finished one shy of the single season top 10, dishing out 129 assists as a rookie.

 
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX

  • Elon brings a 3-0 record to Orlando for the Wednesday contest.
  • UCF and Elon will meet for the first time on the hardwood on Wednesday. The Knights have only played three other Colonial Athletic Association squads, and are a combined 13-5 against the league.
  • The Phoenix opened the season ranked 10th in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major poll and moved up to No. 8 following a pair of victories.
  • Elon is averaging 90.0 points per game to start the season and shooting 54.2 percent from the field.
  • A trio of Elon players average double figures, led by Ra'Shika White's 18.0 points per game. Shay Burnett averages 15.7 PPG and a team-leading 8.0 rebounds per contest. Malaya Johnson averages 14.0 points per contest, and is second with an average of 7.0 rebounds per game.

 
NEXT UP
UCF continues its home stretch with the UCF Thanksgiving Classic. Wyoming, Northern Iowa and IUPUI all travel to Orlando for the two-day tournament Nov. 25-26. The Knights will face IUPUI on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and UNI at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
