ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men's basketball team has opened up the 2017-18 season with a pair of home wins over Mercer and Gardner-Webb. On Saturday, the Knights will aim for a third straight when they play host to William & Mary at 2 p.m. on ESPN3.
Without the help of preseason all-conference honorees B.J. Taylor and Tacko Fall, UCF (2-0) has won its first two games thanks to its newfound depth. Nine different Knights have scored and seven have been in double figures through two games.
With the return of Fall seemingly in the near future, UCF takes on a William & Mary (1-1) team that has had an interesting start to the 2017-18 campaign. The Tribe opened up with a 100-66 loss at High Point and then came back home to defeat Hampton 83-76 on Wednesday.
Saturday will mark just the second ever meeting between UCF and William & Mary on the hardwood. The Knights won 69-65 back on Jan. 2, 1989.
Following the game against the Tribe, the Knights will travel down the road to ESPN's Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World to play in the AdvoCare Invitational. UCF opens up against Nebraska Thursday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. at HP Fieldhouse.
