ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- UCF head women's golf coach Emily Marron has announced the signing of Elizabeth Moon to a National Letter of Intent. Moon will join the Knights as a freshman for the 2018-19 season.
Moon, a Forest City, Ark. product, was a semifinalist at the 2017 USGA Junior Girls Championship, falling to the eventual champion in a playoff. Moon is ranked No. 30 in the AJGA Rolex Rankings and is rated as the No. 9 recruit in the Class of 2018. She won the 2017 Arkansas State High School Championship and was also the 2014 Arkansas State Match Play champion.
"We are very excited to add Elizabeth to our team," Marron said. "She had a very impressive summer, finishing as runner-up in the U.S. Junior Girls and that provided her the opportunity to play in other national events. That experience will certainly help in transitioning her game to the college level. I am confident Elizabeth can come in and make an immediate impact on our program."
The Knights will resume their 2017-18 schedule in January.
