ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – With four wins out of its last five outings, the UCF volleyball team heads out for its final two-match weekend away from home. The Knights travel to face Temple on Friday night at 7 p.m., before taking on UConn on Sunday at Noon.
 
UCF (15-13, 8-8) is tied for sixth in the American Athletic Conference with four matches left in the regular season.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• The Black and Gold put together one of its best weekends of the year with back-to-back sweeps of Tulane and Houston.
• Against the Green Wave, UCF hit above .240 in all three frames. Alli Sabol notched a season-high for a three-set match with 12 kills to lead the way.
• The Knights held Houston to a season-low .000 hitting percentage on Sunday. The Black and Gold were relentless on defense, led by six blocks from Taylor Wickey.
• With dig tallies of 15 and 24, Jordan Pingel finished the weekend averaging 6.5 digs per set.
 
OVER THE LAST FIVE
• The Knights have been on a tear as of late with a 4-1 record over the last five matches, including four sweeps.
• UCF hit .260 during that stretch, and held opponents to a .133 clip at the net.
• Defensively, the Black and Gold averaged 3.1 blocks and 16.9 digs per set.
• Sabol and Kia Bright led the team with hitting percentages of .301 and .331, respectively. Bright tallied 4.75 kills per set.
 
WICKEY'S BLOCK PARTY
• Taylor Wickey moved into the team lead in blocks this season with her performance in the last five matches.
• The Omaha, Neb., native totaled 34 rejections, blocking at least five balls per match.
• The redshirt senior is averaging 1.1 blocks per set, which ranks seventh in The American.
• Wickey also sits second in the league in attack percentage at .357 this season.  
 
SCOUTING TEMPLE
• The Owls are third in the conference with a 12-4 record. Temple is 16-8 overall this season.
• Izzy Rapacz earned The American Defensive Player of the Week honors with 1.5 blocks and 4.1 digs per set.
• Temple ranks second in the league in blocks, kills, assists and hitting percentage.
 
SCOUTING UCONN
• The Huskies are 11-17 this year with a 4-12 mark in The American.
• Kayla Williams leads the team with 3.88 kills per set.
• Williams also tops the conference in service aces 33 this year.
 
SERIES HISTORIES
• The Knights can even the series with Temple at 6-6 with a win on Friday.
• UCF holds a dominant 9-1 lead over the Huskies.
