Knights Set for FSU Invite

FSU Invite Draws

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Ready for its final tournament of the fall season, the UCF women's tennis team will head to Tallahassee for the FSU All Conference Showdown. Four Knights are set to go up in singles and doubles action against players from an 11-team field, including Iowa, Wisconsin, West Virginia and host Florida State.

The Black and Gold return to the court after sweeping the doubles final at the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic last weekend. Monica Matias and Natalia Serrano bested Ksenia Kuznetsova and Maria Martinez in the championship match, and Matias added runner-up honors in the singles event.

On Friday, Matias will open up play in the singles Gold draw against Wisconsin's Maryann Rompf. Silvia Bordes will go up against Sanae Ohta from Troy in the Garnet draw. Serrano will battle against Anne Sophie Courteau of West Virginia in the Seminole draw, and Emilia Granstrom will take on Yi Chi Ma from East Tennessee State in the Speicher draw.

In doubles action, Matias and Serrano will face Iowa's Elsie Van Heuvelen and Dori Huckleby in the Gold draw. Bordes and Granstrom will meet the Furman duo of Hannah Ferrett and Carol Kerman.
