ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 25 UCF football team took its show on the road and defeated Cincinnati by a score of 51-23 in a weather-shortened game at Nippert Stadium Saturday night. The Knights improved to 4-0 for the first time ever in the program's NCAA FBS era.

Here's Why We Won

We came out #UCFast
Our offense wasted no time getting going against the Bearcats, scoring two touchdowns on our first five plays from scrimmage.

  • McKenzie Milton found Dredrick Snelson for a 54-yard touchdown on the fourth play of the game.
  • After the defense forced a Cincinnati punt, Milton hit Tre'Quan Smith for a 79-yard touchdown on the first play of the drive.

We led it 13-0 before five minutes even came off the clock, and put up 20 points by the end of the first quarter. When we hit the locker room for halftime, the scoreboard read 37-16 and the game was all but over.

Milton was spreading the ball around
We have loads of talent on offense, and that was never more evident than last night. Of Milton's first 10 pass attempts, he completed eight. Each of those eight receptions were to different receivers. Three of the eight were for touchdowns. Yes, yet again to three different Knights.

  • Six different Knights had 20 or more yards receiving
  • Four different Knights had 10 or more yards rushing

"Coach Frost has done an awesome job of recruiting playmakers here. Those guys just make plays after plays with the ball in their hands. It's awesome." – McKenzie Milton

Plain and simple…our offense was dominant
The offense had the ball eight times in the game. They scored all eight times. Seven of eight scores were for touchdowns. And we only played three quarters.

In just under 45 minutes of time off the block, we put up 515 yards of offense, marking the second straight game we've recorded 500 or more yards in a game. It is the first time since 2002 that we've achieved that feat.

Milton finished the night 16-of-19 for career highs of 374 yards and five touchdowns. Smith ended up with five catches for 165 yards and a career high three touchdown receptions. Oh, and he added a touchdown run for good measure.

"I've been around football awhile and I don't remember a cleaner game on offense. They executed so well. We had such a good week of preparation and I knew they were ready to play, but the performance they put out tonight on offense was special." – Scott Frost
