UCF-Navy: Postgame Notes


General

  • UCF captains: Rory Coleman, Tre Neal, Tre'Quan Smith, McKenzie Milton
  • Coin Toss: Navy won toss and deferred. UCF elected to receive and defend north end zone.
  • UCF's opponents have won the toss in each game so far this season.
  • This is UCF's first-ever contest against a United States service academy.
  • The contest marks UCF's second trip to Maryland this season. Prior to this season, the Knights had never played in Maryland.
  • UCF is 6-0 for the first time in school history.
  • The Knights are now bowl eligible. UCF will go to a bowl for the ninth time in program history.


Offense

  • Tre'Quan Smith's touchdown reception on the opening possession was his eighth of the season.
  • Adrian Killins' second-quarter TD run was his fourth of the season.
  • Killins' 79-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was his second of the game and fifth of the season. This is his first career game with multiple rushing TDs.
  • Killins went over 100 yards rushing for the second time in his career. The first 100-yard game of his career came vs. Memphis earlier this season.
  • Otis Anderson found the end zone on the ground for the first time in his career.


Defense

  • Kyle Gibson's second-quarter interception was his third of the season.
  • Inside linebackers Pat Jasinski and Chequan Burkett both tallied season-high marks for tackles.
  • Pat Jasinski recorded 14 stops, while Burkett tallied 13 tackles.
  • Jasinski's total was also a career-high.
  • Burkett's career-high was 12 coming in, which he passed today.
  • Brandon Moore notched is first career forced fumble, fumble recovery and interception on Saturday.

Special Teams

  • Matthew Wright's missed 47-yard field goal was his first miss since the season-opener.
  • Wright converted 4-of-4 PATs and converted a 35-yard field goal in the third quarter vs. the Midshipmen.
  • Mike Hughes returned a kickoff 58 yards to set up the Knights' second TD. It was UCF's longest kick return of the season.
