VALENTINE, Neb. (UCFKnights.com) -- UCF's Bobby Bai recorded the second-best round in UCF history Monday at the Jackrabbit Invitational.

Bai's round of 63 left him 11-under and just two strokes off the lead. He vaulted up the leaderboard by 24 spots in just one round of golf. Bai opened Monday's round on the back nine and started with three straight birdies. After a pair of pars, he carded an eagle on the Par 5 15th hole. A bogey on 16 was the only blemish in his round. He wrapped up his first nine holes with a birdie and was 5-under for the round at the turn. He added four more birdies on the front nine to tally the career-best round of 63 (-9). Bai is taking part in The Jackrabbit as an individual, his score does not count toward the team's total.

In a 13-team field at the Prairie Club - Dunes Course, UCF is tied for seventh place. Two of three rounds have been played at the tournament being hosted by South Dakota State University.

Kyler Tate leads the way for the Knights who are representing the team at 5-under par. That score is good enough to land him in a tie for 18th place. He is eight strokes off the lead.

As a team, UCF is 13-under and 23 strokes off the lead held by Santa Clara.

Manuel Elvira is tied for 24th at -4 for the tournament. Donnie Trosper is 3-under and tied for 31st. Juuso Kahlos rounded out the team scoring for UCF today. He is -1 and tied for 47th. Jake Grula is 2-over par and tied for 62nd.
