ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF volleyball team heads back on the road this weekend for a pair of matches in the American Athletic Conference. The Knights (10-10, 3-5) will face Houston on Friday at 8 p.m. (ET) and Tulane on Sunday at 1 p.m. (ET).
 
The match at Tulane will be streamed on the American Digital Network.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• The Knights split last weekend's home stand against UConn and Temple.
• On Friday, the Black and Gold put on a defensive display by holding the Huskies to .009 hitting, the lowest attack percentage by an opponent since 2012, as UCF earned its fourth sweep of the year.
• Sunday's match against Temple featured huge swings in momentum. The Knights took a 2-0 lead into the intermission, but the Owls battled back to force a decisive fifth set. In the final game, Temple won the match by finishing on a 9-2 run.
 
RING OF HONOR ANNOUNCED
• The UCF Volleyball team announced its 2017 Ring of Honor inductees earlier this week.
• UCF Athletics Hall of Fame coaches Lucy McDaniel and Laura Smith will be honored on Nov. 12 during the Knights' match against Houston.
 
SETTING UP THE ATTACK
• Setters Miranda Watkins and Erin Olson have teamed up to run the offense this season.
• Combined, the duo is averaging 11.23 assists per set.
• Olson dropped a career-high 55 dimes during the five-set contest at Memphis.
 
FRESHMEN IMPACT
• 20 matches into the year, the five first-year freshmen have adjusted to the collegiate game well.
• Kristina Fisher ranks second on the team and 14th in the AAC in kills per set with 2.76.
• Anne-Marie Watson has hit above .200 in seven matches this season.
• Mary Kate Painter, Kat Felice and Alex Fisher have stepped up when called upon this year.
 
SCOUTING HOUSTON
• The Cougars enter the weekend with a record of 6-10 overall and 2-6 in league action.
• Houston leads the AAC in service aces with 1.54 per set.
• Brianna Lynch powers the offense with 2.73 kills per set and Katie Karbo ranks fifth in the conference in digs per set at 5.28.
 
SCOUTING TULANE
• After starting the season 11-2, the Green Wave has fallen to 12-9 this year and 1-7 in the league.
• Tulane boasts five players averaging above two kills per set, guided by Dayna Kern and Lexie Douglas at 2.24 and 2.23, respectively.
• For the second week in a row, the Knights will face one of the conference leaders in service aces. Justine Bowers is tied for the league-high with 30 aces this season.
 
SERIES HISTORIES
• After winning the last three meetings, UCF is 8-11 against Houston.
• The Knights are 14-10 against the Green Wave.
