ATLANTA, Ga./HARLINGEN, Texas (UCFKnights.com) – Freshmen Gabriel Decamps and Mikhail Sokolovskiy continued their strong fall season in two separate tournaments on Monday.
Decamps punched his ticket into the singles main draw of the F34 Futures/Harlingen Country Club Men's $25,000 Futures. The rookie downed Isaiah Strode in the final round of the singles qualifying draw 6-4, 6-3. Decamps will face the No. 1 seeded Nicolaas Scholtz from South Africa on Tuesday.
Sokolovskiy competed in quarterfinals of the ITA Southeast Regional at Georgia Tech. Squaring off with the No. 1 seed Wayne Montgomery from Georgia, Sokolovskiy, the No. 16 seed, had his hands full. The Russian international closed his second career tournament with UCF with a 6-4, 6-0 defeat to Montgomery.
