ATLANTA, Ga. (UCFKnights.com) – Freshman Mikhail Sokolovskiy reached the quarterfinals of the singles main draw on Sunday, as the UCF men's tennis team competed on day three of the ITA Southeast Regional at Georgia Tech.

A trio of Knights - Sokolovskiy, ITA/Oracle No. 23 Korey Lovett and Danny Kerznerman - opened the day in the second round of the singles tournament.

Sokolovskiy, the No. 16 seed, faced Philip Gresk of Georgia Tech in the second round. The Russian international battled through a tough first set, before cruising in the second to win 7-5, 6-1. Later, Sokolovskiy needed three sets to down Ezekiel Cerrini, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, and make it to the quarters.

The No. 10 seeded, Lovett, dropped his second-round matchup to Kennesaw State's Fermin Calvo in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Kerznerman fell to the No. 15 seed Grayson Goldin of USF, 6-2, 6-4.

Kerznerman and Lovett squared off in doubles action against Andy Andrade and McClain Kessler from Florida. The Knights' duo took the match into a tiebreak, but could not close it out, bowing out of the tournament in a 8-7 (2) defeat.
