Intro to Mock Interviews

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The Student-Athlete Welfare and Development Office held its Introduction to Mock Interviews program in the Wayne Densch Center for Student-Athlete Leadership. Focusing on learning how to dress professionally and preparing for the upcoming Mock Interview and Networking Knights professional development event, the Junior Knights were equipped with some of the fundamentals for setting up their future careers.

When it comes to preparing for interviews or landing that dream job, dressing for success is a key contributor. This is true whether going from an academic setting into a chosen career, moving up the ladder within a career field, or transitioning between career fields.

"Our intent is to build upon these professional-based programs with our student-athletes so that when the real interviews, or networking events, occur toward the end of their academic career, they are well rehearsed and confident as they begin their careers", said Leadership and Career Development Strategist, Steve Seay.

First impressions are made in the first few seconds of meeting someone but the knowledge instilled in our Knights will continuously be used in their future endeavors beyond athletics and into their chosen careers.

The Mock Interview event will be held on October 26, 2017. This event will host more than 20 employers from the Orlando area across all industries. The format will mirror speed-dating style and interviewers will ask questions then provide feedback to our athletes. In years past some athletes have landed internships and even jobs from attending.
