TEMPE, Ariz. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 24 UCF women's soccer team closed out Sun Devil Desert Classic action with a 2-1 win over Arizona State on Sunday afternoon at the Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

"It feels great to go 2-0 on the weekend," UCF head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said. "It was a business trip. We had to come in, do our work and get the job done. We were able to do it in 110 degrees too. I'm very happy for the team."

UCF (4-1) extended its winning streak to four straight matches, and swept both of its games in Tempe over the weekend.

Just one minute into the second half, Dina Orshcmann tallied her second goal of the season to put UCF up 1-0. In the 55th minute, Morgan Ferrara doubled the lead as she found the back of the net off a header from Kathellen Sousa.

Two was the number today.

  • In its last four games, UCF has scored a pair of goals in each contest.
  • Entering Sunday's match, all six of UCF's goals came from a different Knight.
  • Against Arizona State, Dina Orschmann and Morgan Ferrara became the first members of the squad to score a goal in multiple games.

The Knights are on a roll.

  • After dropping its season opener, UCF has won four straight contests.
  • During this stretch, the Knights have earned a pair of wins over Pac 12 squads (Arizona, Arizona State) and an ACC program (UNC).

UCF reversed its role, becoming the first team to score.

  • The Knights scored first for the first time in the Aug. 20 victory over Stetson.
  • Against both then-No. 4 UNC and Arizona, the Knights rallied from behind for victories.
  • Sunday's victory also marked UCF's third-straight 2-1 victory (vs. UNC, Arizona).

The Knights return to action on Sept. 8, hosting LSU at 7 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex. .
