CHARLESTON, S.C. (UCFKnights.com) -- The 2017-18 collegiate golf season got under way for the UCF women's golf team Monday. The Knights are taking part in the Ocean Course Invitational, hosted by the College of Charleston.
UCF is in 10th place after the first two rounds of play in the 16-team event. The Knights are 18-over par, thanks to a big improvement in the second round. UCF carded a 14-over 306 in the first round, but came back with a 10-stroke improvement in the second round.
Kaeli Jones and Anna Hack paced UCF on day one of the new season. Both shot identical scores of 78 and 72 in the first two rounds and are tied for 29th at 4-over par. Maria Balcazar and Ana Laura Collado were also consistent, carding scores of 75 and 78 to sit at 7-over in a tie for 43rd place. Kayla Kozak rounded out the scoring for UCF. She is tied for 47th at 8-over.
