ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 13 UCF women's soccer team hosts Memphis on Sunday in a 1 p.m. American Athletic Conference matchup at the UCF Soccer Complex.
The Knights (6-1-1, 2-0-1 The American) are on a seven match unbeaten streak entering the match against the Tigers (7-4-1, 1-1-1 The American). UCF extended its streak with a 6-1 win over Tulsa on Thursday evening.
Triumph Over Tulsa
- UCF's six goals in the win over Tulsa marked the program's high since joining The American. The Knights had previously scored four goals on nine occasions.
- The number also marked a program best under head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak. UCF's previous high was five goals, reached twice (vs. North Florida, 2013; FIU, 2016)
- The Knights recorded their most goals in a game since a 7-0 win over ECU in 2012.
National Knights
- Since making its return to the United Soccer Coaches poll on Aug. 29, UCF has continued to climb.
- The Knights checked in at No. 13 in Tuesday's Top 25 rankings, marking the fourth straight week of climbing in the poll.
- UCF was also the second-ranked team in the Southeast region.
- The Black and Gold remained steady at fourth in the second release of the NCAA RPI.
Scouting the Tigers
- Memphis enters the match with a 7-4-1 overall record and a 1-1-1 mark in The American. The Tigers dropped a 3-1 decision at USF on Thursday evening.
- Rachel Ashworth was named The American Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday. She finished with a career-high 14 saves in a 3-3 draw against SMU and made an additional two saves in a 2-1 win over Houston.
- The Tigers lead the all-time series 9-7-1, but the Knights have won four of the last five meetings.
