CHARLESTON, S.C./TAMPA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's tennis team earned its first hardware of the fall season on Saturday in the top doubles flight of the Bedford Cup.  
 
Natalia Serrano and Monica Matias started the morning in the semifinals against Vicky Geurinckx and Arijana Korac from Stetson, winning 6-3. In the finals, the experience duo dominated FGCU's Bridget Forster and Maja Ormberg, 6-1.
 
Matias cruised into the finals of the Venus Williams Flight with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Irina Karangozishvili from North Florida. The Moca, Puerto Rico, native will meet Ana Macdur from Miami in the finals on Sunday.
 
Serrano will play in the third-place match of the Garbine Muguruza Flight on Sunday against Rafaela Gomez from North Florida. The Spanish international fell in the semis in straight sets to Sinead Lohan from Miami, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Emilia Granstrom dropped her match to Luise Intert of North Florida in the Madison Keys Flight, 6-1, 6-4. The senior will go up against Brooke Milner from Stetson tomorrow for third-place honors.
 
Ksenia Kuznetsova and Maria Martinez wrapped up their first tournament as Knights. The rookies played in the doubles finals of the ITF $15,000 Charleston, S.C. Facing Chloe Beck and Emma Navarro, the freshmen ended up with second-place honors, following a 6-1, 6-4 defeat.
