ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – After becoming the first UCF men's tennis player to qualify for the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Tournament in program history last season, senior Korey Lovett will head into his final year wearing the Black & Gold as the ORACLE/ITA 23rd ranked player in the nation.

In his first season with the Knights after transferring from Alabama, Lovett dominated at number one singles with a 15-8 record, as well as an 11-7 mark in doubles action.

Lovett defeated four ranked opponents last season, including No. 33 Eduardo Mena from Tennessee Tech. The Brevard, N.C., native bested No. 42 Ryotaro Matsumura of Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Men's Singles Tournament.

The Knights will compete in seven tournaments this fall, starting with the Bedford Cup in Tallahassee on Oct. 6.
