ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 13 UCF women's soccer team returns to action on Thursday, hosting Tulsa in an American Athletic Conference matchup at 7 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.

The Knights (5-1-1, 1-0-1 The American) enter the match against the Hurricane (3-7-2, 1-1-0 The American) on a six match unbeaten streak. UCF opened league play with a 0-0 draw at Cincinnati before topping ECU 4-0 on the road.

The first 75 students will receive a free soccer scarf on Thursday night.

Fans are encouraged to wear green to Thursday's match as part of a league-wide initiative for mental health awareness. UCF's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has planned to host "green games" for all home competitions during the week of Sept. 25-29.

Dynamic Duo

  • Senior Kayla Adamek and Dina Orschmann earned recognition from the conference office on Monday after netting a pair of goals each at ECU. Adamek was named The American Offensive Player of the Week while Orschmann was tabbed as The American Rookie of the Week.
  • The pair became the second UCF duo to tally a pair of goals each in The American. The last time UCF accomplished the feat came in a 4-1 victory over UConn in 2013 when Alex Piercy and Lena Petermann each finished with two goals.
  • Orschmann leads the Knights in goals (4) and points (10) while Adamek is second (3 goals, 8 points) in both categories.

National Knights

  • Since making its return to the United Soccer Coaches poll on Aug. 29, UCF has continued to climb.
  • The Knights checked in at No. 13 in Tuesday's Top 25 rankings, marking the fourth straight week of climbing in the poll.
  • UCF was also the second-ranked team in the Southeast region.
  • The Black and Gold remained steady at fourth in the second release of the NCAA RPI.

Scouting the Hurricane

  • Tulsa enters the match with a 3-7-2 overall record and a 1-1-0 mark in The American.
  • The Hurricane dropped a 3-1 decision against Houston before topping SMU 3-2 in overtime last weekend.
  • Rachel Thun-Blankenship paces Tulsa's offense with three goals, four assists and 10 points on the season.
  • UCF leads the all-time series 11-0-1.
