Mt. Dew Invitational Results

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Nearly every member of the UCF cross country turned in a season-best time to help the Knights to a sixth place finish at the Mountain Dew Invitational on Saturday morning.
 
For the second straight meet, freshman Beth Williams was the top Knight finisher. She crossed the line in a personal-best time of 18:42.1 for 21st place.
 
Senior Kalleigh Forrester finished with a season-best mark of 18:55.3 for 32nd, followed by senior Rosie Chamberlain who crossed the line in 19:21.3.
 
The great 5K showing at the UF Golf Course continued, as senior Marissa Codispodi (19:23.6), sophomore Victoria Jung (19:35.3) and senior Laura Korsmit (20:09.3) all finished in the top 100 with season-best marks.
 
Redshirt junior Emily Jenkinson (20:38.0), junior Crystal Tejeda (20:47.9), freshman Kayla McGowan (21:16.4) and sophomore Shiree Hinds (21:46.5) each posted season-best times to put every Knight competitor in the top 183 out of 285 runners.

Overall, UCF finished sixth out of 32 teams in the field, coming in ahead of Miami and USF in the team standings.
 
UCF returns to action on September 29 at the Florida Runner Invitational in Titusville.
