ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF volleyball team will play its first home matches of the 2017 season this weekend in the VolleyKnights Invitational in The Venue.
Originally, the Knights were set to host Virginia and Ole Miss, but the lingering effects of Hurricane Irma forced the three programs to alter the schedule. UCF (5-5) will now play on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. with both matches coming against Virginia (4-5).
"I've been impressed with how resilient we have been," head coach Todd Dagenais said. "We've managed three weeks on the road, a long bus trip and the aftermath of a major hurricane. I'm looking forward to seeing a team that is looking forward to be back home and perform in front of our fans. It's good to be back in a two-match routine at home. Playing against a good ACC team a couple of times will be a great way to open our season in The Venue.
Admission is free for all matches this weekend, while UCFKnights.tv will stream each match.
LAST TIME OUT
