ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF junior Jonathan Dean was tabbed as The American Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Knights notch a 4-0 win at Jacksonville and 0-0 draw at No. 14 West Virginia.
 
The Knights posted their first result against a ranked opponent since Oct. 2, 2013, with their 0-0 draw at WVU.
 
Dean was a part of a backline that did not concede a shot in the first half at Jacksonville. He also aided the UCF back four to allowing on three shots on target vs. the Mountaineers.

Senior Matias Pyysalo and freshman Yannik Oettl were name to The American Honor Roll. Pyysalo tallied a natural hat trick, scoring the final three goals, which Oettl recorded a shutout vs. the Dolphins.
 
UCF has postponed its match vs. FIU, which was set for Tuesday. Both teams are trying to find a date to play the contest. The next scheduled date for UCF is on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Florida Gulf Coast.
