ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF men's golf team finished competition in its first tournament of the fall, placing third out of 16 teams at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate on Sunday.

The Knights shot 300 in the final round after carding 292 and 291 on the first two days of action. UCF finished with a three-day score of 883, trailing second-place Miami (Ohio) by five strokes and tournament champion Kentucky by 11.

Kyler Tate led the Knights in the final round of action and finished with the best score for the Knights on the weekend, shooting a 1-over par 72 on Sunday. The junior tied for third overall in the tournament with a three-round score of 3-over 216. Tate trailed only Miami's Patrick Flavin (211) and Brian Ohr (212).

Bobby Bai and Juuso Kahlos were second and third for UCF on Sunday, shooting 3-over par 74 and 5-over 76, respectively. Bai finished 18th with a three-day score of 223, while Kahlos was 21st at 224. Kahlos totaled 11 birdies on the weekend, tied for fifth most in the tournament.

Donnie Trosper and Manuel Elvira rounded out the Knights' team lineup. The former placed 26th with a score 227, while the latter was 32nd at 228. Tommy Cao, playing as an individual, was 43rd at 235.

UCF will next compete at the University of Hartford's tournament in South Kent, Conn. on Sept. 18-19.
