Following last Thursday's dominating victory over FIU, Frost and the Knights were on the field preparing for a new opponent Monday morning. Monday afternoon, the UCF head coach reiterated that despite their conference affiliation this week's opponent will be treated just like all the others.
"We try to treat every game the same," Frost said. "Every game's important. For the sake of the conference standings and where you are in the league, it's more important, but our guys are going to be ready to play every game. It's a little unusual to play a conference game this early, but we have to be just as ready in week two as we would be week six."
Being a conference opener, Frost feels the match-up against Memphis will be another test to see where his team stands. One of many for the 2017 season.
"Every game's a measuring stick game," he said. "Last week was a measuring stick game to see where we were. Now we get a chance to see where we are compared to one of the better teams in our conference. Then we'll get chances to see where we are against an ACC team and a Big 10 team. Every week's important and this one's no different. Our kids are really excited to play. We had a really good practice today, so I think they're dialed in and ready to prepare to win."
