ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women's soccer team is gearing up for the beginning of the fall season with an exhibition Wednesday against Miami at 7 p.m. Admission is free at the UCF Soccer Complex.

The Knights and Hurricanes open exhibition play in Orlando for the second straight season. In 2016, UCF scored first, but Miami tallied two goals in the final 25 minutes of action to take the 2-1 victory. The squads also faced off in Miami during spring play, posting a 2-2 tie.

UCF returns experience as 13 members of the 2016 squad are back for the 2017 campaign, including the reigning American Athletic Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year Saga Fredriksson and all-conference selections Morgan Ferrara and Zandy Soree. Seven new members joined the roster this fall, most recently Louisville transfer Kathellen Sousa-Feitoza.

Miami posted a 10-8 mark last season and returns 19 players, including seven starters from the 2016 squad.

In addition to Wednesday's matchup, the Knights will host UNF in an exhibition contest on Saturday at 7 p.m. UCF opens the 2017 campaign on Aug. 18 at South Carolina before returning to Orlando to host Stetson in the home opener. The Knights will play nine matches at the UCF Soccer Complex in 2017, hosting four squads who earned bids to the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Among those making the trip to The City Beautiful is the alma mater of both Sahaydaks, North Carolina, on Aug. 25.
