ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF cross country team opens the 2017 campaign on Friday evening at the FAU Invitational.
The meet will take place at South Country Regional Park in Boca Raton.
The men will race first, at 6 p.m., with the women following at 6:30 p.m. UCF is one of 12 teams competing in the 5K meet, with more than 100 runners scheduled.
The Knights featured an experienced squad of returners while welcoming three new faces to the mix.
Senior Rosie Chamberlain highlights the list of returners for the Knights. She finished in the top 100 at the NCAA South Region Championships last season. Redshirt senior Marissa Codispodi and sophomore Victoria Jung continued to improve as the season progressed last season, posting personal best marks in regional action last fall.
UCF welcomes newcomers Beth Williams, Kayla McGowan and Daesha Rogers to the squad in 2017.
