ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – A pair of Knights were recognized by the American Athletic Conference on Monday after the UCF women's soccer team topped No. 4 UNC, 2-1, on Aug. 25.

Senior Christine Creighton was named player of the week, while freshman Dina Orschmann was tabbed as the rookie of the week. The duo each scored a goal to lift the Knights to their first victory over a top-five opponent since 2009.

Creighton's second shot against the Tar Heels stopped the clock in the 105th minute, giving UCF the 2-1 victory over UNC. The Haverhill, Fla., native sent the ball into the upper left corner of the net for her first game-winning goal of the season and her second as a Knight.

Making her first start in just her second game, Dina Orschmann came up big in the 13th minute of the game. Her first shot of the game came on a rebound, which the Berlin native converted into the equalizer.

UCF makes its second road trip of the season, heading to Tempe, Ariz. for the Sun Devil Desert Classic. The Knights will face Arizona on Sept. 1 and Arizona State on Sept. 3.
